San Miguel: make the town your starting point
San Miguel de Salinas sits inland from the Orihuela coast. It makes sense when you want a kitchen of your own and a base from which to explore, rather than an itinerary built around one beach. Our apartment is here, so a stay with us means planning coastal outings as trips.
The town centre and the wider municipality are not interchangeable. Before choosing any rental, trace the route from its entrance to your grocery shop and evening meal. Hills, crossings and the return with shopping matter more than a straight-line distance.
La Zenia and Playa Flamenca: choose the actual beach route
These are useful areas to investigate when the coast shapes your day. Start with a beach pin, then work back to an accommodation address. A listing described as being in La Zenia may be convenient for shopping without being equally convenient for walking to the sea.
For a week with children, compare the walk carrying bags with the option of driving and parking. If evenings on foot are essential, check the route back from restaurants as carefully as the route to the beach.
Torrevieja: a town-and-sea holiday
Look at Torrevieja when you want an urban coastal setting. Narrow your search to the streets and seafront section you actually intend to use. The wider Torrevieja area includes addresses well away from the central promenades.
Our apartment is in San Miguel, not central Torrevieja. That distinction matters if you want to step out into Torrevieja every evening: compare a central stay with the transport you would need from an inland base.
Villamartín: start with your golf plans
If golf is the main event, choose your rounds before you finalise the accommodation. Staying near one course may be convenient for that round but less useful for a trip spread across several clubs.
Check both the club entrance and your evening plans. A self-catering apartment gives your group flexibility, while a hotel package may bundle services you would otherwise arrange separately.
Cabo Roig and Campoamor: be precise about the address
Use these areas as part of a coastal accommodation shortlist. Check the beach you would actually visit, the route to it and whether the facilities important to you operate during your dates.
Campoamor can appear in coastal and golf-related searches. Look at the map pin before assuming that a home near the golf club is beside the beach. For any area, ask for a complete quote and the exact sleeping arrangements before committing.
